To date, the mission has consisted of five phases from concept to refinement, detail design, fabrication, assembly, integration, test and evaluation of the experiment. The experiment is now designated as the Integrated Beam Control Demonstration (IBCD). Phase V continues to focus on two experiments to extend state-of-the-art in wide field-of-view rapid retargeting and space-based laser system performance. The very successful ABCS is a key example of developed technology and hardware for deformable mirrors, wavefront sensors, and beam steering mirrors.
