Goodrich designs and manufactures laser warning receivers for
aircraft. These devices detect laser radiation. Signal processing
determines the type of threat and the direction of its source.
These electro-optical countermeasure sets consist of externally
mounted sensor units and an inboard interface unit comparator and
associated test equipment. Goodrich laser warning systems can
also be used with the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System
(MILES) to reduce the cost and time required for training.
These systems have been successfully integrated with the family of
AN/APR-39 Radar Signal Detecting Sets on over 30 different types of
U.S. military helicopters and on other international customer
aircraft.
Laser warning systems produced by Goodrich include the AN/AVR-2
Laser Detection Set (LDS), the AN/AVR-2A(V) LDS, and the
301-M Laser Warning Receiver (LWR).
